 A  46 year old Yakima man was injured during a carjacking early Wednesday morning. Yakima police say the man was being treated in a local hospital with a life threatening injury.  His name has not yet been released.

A suspect in the case was taken into custody late this morning.

The unresponsive victim was found in the street in the 200 block of South 81st Avenue at about 5:20am  Wednesday morning. He apparently had been robbed of his vehicle and assaulted, and may have been hit by the vehicle according to police.  That vehicle was found on highway 12 about three hours after the carjacking was reported.

The suspect in the case was found in another stolen vehicle about 2.5 miles east of Tieton on Rosencranz Road. Property believed to be from the carjacking was found in that vehicle.
