Man On ATV Injured After Being Hit By Train

A 64-year-old man is in a Yakima hospital today after he was hit by a train while riding his ATV Tuesday afternoon in the 400-block of East Pomona Road just north of Selah. Yakima County Sheriff's Deputies say the BNSF train was traveling Southbound at 25 miles per hour and the man on his ATV was traveling Westbound when the accident happened. Authorities say the crash was the result of the man failing to yield to the train.

the man suffered significant injuries; including a head, back, and leg injuries. He remains at a Yakima hospital today.
