Man Flees From Police Crashes Truck Snarls Traffic

A man from Yakima is recovering from a serious crash after fleeing from a traffic stop by Yakima Police yesterday afternoon. Authorities say they tried to stop the driver, 48 year old Randy Jerred in the area of 24th Avenue and Chestnut but he took off. Eventually he crashed is truck into two other vehicles at the intersection of 16th and Chestnut. The other drivers were not injured. But Jerred was taken to a Yakima hospital with serious injuries.
