A 29-year-old man is dead after a drive-by shooting in Granger on Saturday. Granger Police say officers responded to the 300 block of Bailey Avenue at about 10:30 p.m. Saturday for a report of a gunshot victim. When they arrived they found the man had been shot several times. Authorities tried to save him when medics arrived but he died at the scene of the shooting.
An investigation by the Granger Police Department has found the man was shot from an unknown vehicle last seen driving Eastbound on Bailey Avenue. No suspects have been arrested. The victims' name has not been released and police aren't saying if the shooting was gang related. A press release says "the investigation is ongoing and being handled by the Yakima County Sheriff’s Office. The last drive-by shooting in Yakima was reported in February in an incident the first started with the drive-by shooting of a teenager who was standing in front of Yakima's Garfield Elementary School. Police were able to spot the suspect vehicle and a chase started. The chase ended on South Eighth and West Walnut avenues after the suspect vehicle crashed into a school bus and rolled. Four suspects were arrested but only two have been charged in Yakima County Juvenile court.

Authorities investigate many drive-by shootings every year in the Yakima Valley. Many are gang related and many cases are never solved.
