Man Dead After Scooter Crash in Naches

Yakima County Sheriff's officials say a 65-year-old man was killed while riding a scooter in Naches on Thursday. A news release says the man was riding the scooter at about 2:40 p.m. Thursday when he turned into the path of a truck driven by an employee from the city of Naches at the intersection of Sinclair Avenue and East Second Street. The man was taken to Yakima's Virginia Mason Memorial Hospital where he died. The driver of the truck was not injured. No names have been released. The crash is under investigation.
