Union Gap Police officers arrested a 25 year old man who lead them on a short chase after they tried to stop him in the Union Gap area shortly after midnight. Authorities say the man jumped out of the vehicle at 18th Avenue and West Mead but officers soon caught and arrested him. Officers say they found a large amount of cash on him and drugs in his car. They also found a loaded handgun. They also found he was wanted on an escape warrant from the Department of Corrections. The suspect is being held in the Yakima County jail facing charges of eluding and possesion of drugs.
