Man Arrested After Armed Robbery, Hostage Situation

Police in Toppenish arrested a 21-year-old suspect in connection with an armed robbery late Thursday night.

Officers said they were responding to a possible armed robbery in progress on the 200 block of Washington Avenue in Toppenish. A woman who was in the house escaped through a window and told officers a masked man was holding a gun on her brother inside.

Officers went inside the home, found the suspect and the woman's brother, and took the suspect into custody. They also found the gun the suspect was using along with several stolen items.
