Lower Valley Bin Fire Keeps Firefighters Busy Tuesday

Firefighters from Yakima County Fire District 5 were busy this morning with a large bin fire in the area of Lateral 1 and Highway 97. There's no information on how the fire started. Hundreds of wooden fruit bins burned in the blaze. No injuries have been reported.
Fire officials say they've been working with the owner to help douse hot spots that still remain and remove the unburned bins.
An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire.
