Quick self-assessment -- how's you liver? Is it good? Is it fatty?  is it battered by booze?  The liver is extremely important  which is why Virginia Mason memorial Hospital is inviting you to attend a talk about digestive health and well-being called “Love Your Liver” from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12.

Why do you need to know more about your liver? It processes fats to produce energy, makes proteins so that your blood can clot and breaks down old or damaged blood cells. The liver plays a central role in all of the body’s metabolic processes, including managing food, drink and medications.

The event is sponsored by the Digestive Disease Institute at Virginia Mason, Seattle.

Pre-registration for the talk is appreciated. To register or for more information, visit VirginiaMason.org/events. You can also email allisonarnett@yvmh.org.

It will be held in the auditorium at Virginia Mason Memorial hospital (in the basement), 2811 Tieton Drive, Yakima.
