The November general election results were certified by the Yakima County Canvassing Board on Tuesday making all the results official.

Yakima County Commissioner LaDon Linde wins the District 3 race

Yakima County Auditor Charles Ross says Commissioner LaDon Linde was declared the winner in the Yakima County Commission race in District 3 but a hand recount has been set for December 6. There will also be a hand recount in Toppenish school board race. Both races are close, a difference of 0.5% or less to qualify for a recount. The recount will happen next month even though after certifying the results on Tuesday LaDon Linde won the race against Autumn Torres by 65 votes.

All three commission seats are up for election next year

All three Yakima County Commissioners seats will be up for election again next year after a settlement following a lawsuit that charged the county election system violated the Voting Rights Act.
Yakima County Auditor Charles Ross says the December 6 recount could take up to two weeks to complete because it'll be a hand recount. He says other counties use voting machines to do recounts but he says ever since he took office it's been his pledge to conduct recounts by hand.
127,362 were issued to registered voters for the general election. Ross says that equals a 32% turnout in Yakima County.
