There is an old joke that goes something like, “Why, I’m so old I can remember when Dick Clark looked like, well, like he does today.  The ever youthful Dick Clark the Boss of the Bandstand, has died at the age of 82.

Clark's agent Paul Shefrin said in a statement that the veteran host died Wednesday morning following a massive heart attack.

A TV host and producer, Clark changed the way we listened to pop music with "American Bandstand." His trademark, "Rockin' Eve" became a fixture of New Year's celebrations.

Born in Mount Vernon, N.Y., on November 30, 1929, Richard Wagstaff Clark began his lifelong career

in show business before he was even out of high school. He never lost the energy or the enthusiasm for young people and the music of the day.
