WENATCHEE, Wash. (AP) — A portion of the Mission Ridge Ski Area near Wenatchee has been closed because of a 100-acre landslide.

No one was injured in the landslide, most of which occurred on land leased to the ski area by the U.S. Forest Service.

The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife has closed the active slide area for safety reasons. The slide area starts immediately west of the main ski lodge and crosses the Mimi ski run, with the front-most portion of the slide near Squilchuck Creek.

The slide is considered "active" which means additional movement could occur.

Officials for Mission Ridge say no property or infrastructure was damaged as a result of the landslide.
