The Nile Valley landslide will be remembered on Friday during a special ceremony and you are invited. It happened October 11 of 2009. It was one of the largest landslides in the recorded history of Washington forever changing the landscape of the Nile Valley. In fact the massive landslide destroyed a half-mile of State Route 410 and redirected the Naches River.

On Friday, October 11 you are invited to join Yakima County officials, area cities, state and federal agencies and the Nile Valley community for a commemoration ceremony. It begins at 10:00 a.m. on Nile Road pull-off area.

You'll hear remarks from county officials, WSDOT and officials with the Nile-Cliffdell Fire & Rescue.
