The Kiwanis Club of Yakima and the Kiwanis Trust have pledged $75,000 to the construction of the Yakima Greenway Foundation’s Naches Trail project. The Kiwanis Club presented the first $43,000 donation to the Greenway Board in 2011. Cami Leonard Corbin, Kiwanis Club President, presented the remaining $32,000 to Greenway Board President Sarah Wixson last week.

In recognition, Kiwanians will have a bench and inscribed plaque on the Greenway, residing at the NE corner of 40th Avenue and Fruitvale Blvd.

Since the early 1980’s, Kiwanians have had a huge footprint on the Greenway, leading the way in creating Sherman Park and the Fred Westburg Shelter. This contribution will certainly leave another footprint on the community, or 1,500 feet to be exact.
