Kittitas County Fairground Being Prepared for Labor Day Events

As firefighters work to contain the Taylor Bridge fire near Cle Elum. Organizers are getting the Kittitas County fairgrounds ready for the Ellensburg Fair and Rodeo which opens next Thursday.  Roylene Crawford is President of the Kittitas County Fair board who tells NewsTalk KIT.

Because of the Taylor Bridge fire and the fact that animals were housed on the fairgrounds they're having to speed up the preparation schedule.  But Crawford says the fair and rodeo will open on time this year and hoping it'll return some stability to an area that's been rocked by the Taylor Bridge fire.

The Ellensburg Fair and Rodeo is held every Labor Day weekend.
