His name is Router and he's a K9 working for the Yakima Police Department. Router is a electronic detection dog who helps police find important equipment at crime scenes like phones or computer hard drives and other electronic devices.

ROUTER WILL SOON HAVE A VEST OF HIS OWN

Router works investigating crime and that means he needs protection and thanks to a non-profit group called Vested Interest in K9's Inc. Router will soon get a protective vest. Router works closely with Yakima Police Detective Michael Deleon. According to the Yakima Police Department Facebook page the vest will be embroidered with the words "This gift of protection provided by Vested Interest in K9s, Inc." The life-saving body armor for K9 Officers is custom made and certified.

The agency has provided more than 5,800 vests to K9 Officers throughout the country at a cost of $6.9 million. The vests are made possible through corporate and private donations.
