Netflix has built its empire around the “binge-worthy” shows and movies. And with (what seems like) endless choices to watch and enjoy, there always seems to be one particular movie or TV show that you always keep coming back to. Over and over again, no matter how many times you’ve watched it, it is still enjoyable. We’ll discuss why that is and what film our audience named as its most binge-worthy flick.

Being Raised By The Television

My parents are great parents and were/are always there for me. But there were a fair share of times that the TV was turned on in order to keep me and my older brother entertained and to give my mom and dad a break.

Growing up, we would watch the same movie over and over again. Anyone with a child in their teens, I’m sure, knows the great FROZEN MARATHONS in their living rooms in late 2013, early 2014. In my household, it was Ghostbusters, Goonies, Star Wars: Return Of The Jedi, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (The Movie), and, when my dad wanted to watch, The Blues Brothers.

Needless to say, I had a great, action-packed childhood!

But why do we watch the same movie (or shows) over and over again? It might be more than just “it’s awesome!

The Psychology of Rewatching Movies

According to Psychology Today, rewatching stuff, whether it’s a movie, a TV series,or even a single episode, isn’t a bad thing and can actually help with our well-being.

By watching something we’ve seen before, it can give us a level of comfort, and knowing how things will turn out gives a sense of control. The psychology goes much deeper than that, but it makes sense. If you know that everything will be okay in the end, it gets you through the emotional journey easier.
