Yakima Federal Savings and Loan’s annual scholarship program has been helping students for the past 47 years through its Award for Academic Excellence program!

Helping kids and young adults in Yakima, Kittitas, Franklin, and Benton Counties get the education to help build the life they desire!

Over $2,900,000 in college scholarships has been given to graduating high school seniors, and that tradition continues!

Local students now have a few extra days to apply for this year’s scholarship program.

“The program is funded with $217,500 for scholarships for area graduating seniors. The individual awards are $2,500 each.” – Yakima Federal Savings & Loan.

What are the requirements for applying for the Yakima Federal Savings and Loan’s Award for Academic Excellence program?

Students who live in Yakima, Benton, Kittitas, or Franklin counties and graduate in the top 10 percent of their class can apply. Home schooled students are also able to apply.

But that’s not all. Applicants need to have demonstrated “high moral character,” ambition, and drive throughout high school.

How To Apply for Yakima Federal Savings and Loan’s Award for Academic Excellence program?

The application process is pretty straightforward. Apply by Monday, April 22nd, 2024, and include a one-page letter talking about yourself, your plans for the future, life experiences, challenges you may have faced, and how you overcame them. Also, include how this award could help mold your future.

A committee will select the winners and the recipients will be notified by June 3rd, 2024.
