What a stormy weekend for the Yakima Valley. Rain, thunder and lighting. It kept a lot of us inside watching what was happening outside...some who live along the naches river were doing more then enjoying a spring storm, they were watching the water rise. Today flood warnings continue for the Yakima River at Umtanum and Naches River Near Naches and Cliffdell. Flood waters are also closing large sections of the Yakima Greenway. The flood warnings are expected to stay in place until Tuesday afternoon and evening. Jim Hall Director of the County Office of Emergency Management says the Naches River has reached it's third highest crest in the Nile area in recorded history.
