Central Washington Progress wants you to make a change in Yakima County government. The non partisan group has started a signature gathering campaign to create what's called a Home Rule charter for the county. An article in today's Yakima Herald Republic says the change would mean an expanded county council with the addition of an administrator. The group is the same organization that was able to secure a place on the August ballot to ask voters if all Yakima City Council members should be elected by districts. If enough signatures are gathered and it makes it to the ballot...and voters approve the home rule change voters would also need to elect a group to write the charter then it would have to be adopted in another election.
