It's time to have fun in the mountains.
The White Pass annual Winter Carnival is set for March 3 and 4 at the White Pass Ski area. Spokesperson Kathleen Goyette says it's a great time for family and friends to have fun in the mountains but it's also a time to raise money for the Children's Miracle Network. She says this year they're honoring Warren Miller, a ski film producer that passed away last month. Goyette says dig out that old ski gear and show up for the festivities both Saturday and Sunday.
The highlight is the giant snow castle. Two and a half stories tall. 6 to 7 thousand square feet of tunnels and slides for the kids to ride tubes off the castle. And while you're having fun the carnival in front of the lodge helps to raise money and support local child health care right here in the Yakima Valley.
The White Pass tubing area will be open as well.
