The frozen tundra of Lambeau field has nothing on the real frozen tundra of the Alaskan Iditarod dogsled trail and a former Yakima Sports Reporter knows that first hand. You may recall Josh Godfrey from his time at KNDO- TV in the 1990’s. He’s one of the nicest and hardest working guys in media and he became an excellent videographer and storyteller. He also cheers for the Broncos so I’m sure this is a poignant day for him IF he even has time to consider it because he’s on duty in Alaska covering the Iditarod!

He’s also a great dad and family man and each year his young boys send action figure mascots along with him to the frozen north and they appear in a variety of great pictures from along the trail. This year it’s a Star Wars Storm Trooper and Peyton Manning. Hey, he retired from football, why not!

Good luck to the 85 mushers and their amazing athletic teams, good luck to one of Yakima’s finest media “graduates” and may the best dogs win 8 days from now when they reach the finish line in Nome.
