First Homicide Of 2016 Police Investigating

Yakima Police are investigating a homicide at an apartment in the 1100 block of Cherry Avenue. Police spokesman Mike Bastinelli says officers were called to the area early this morning for a report of shots fired but they didn't find anything. Then at about 9:00 a.m. a man who was visiting found the victim dead inside one of the apartments. The victim is described as an Hispanic man in his late 20's or early 30s'. No arrests have been made. It's the first homicide of 2016 reported in the city of Yakima.
