First Homicide of 2011 Leaves 27 Year Old Man Dead

A 27 year old man was killed in a shooting in the area of North 5th Avenue and Willow Street in Yakima just after 9:30 last night. Yakima Police say Alejandro Baldavinos was walking with his brother, 18 year old Luis Baldavinos when a car pulled up, words were exchanged and someone in the car fired shots. The two brothers were hit. Alenjandro was shot in the chest while Luis was hit in the pelvis. Luis was treated and released. Alenjandro died at the hospital. Police are looking for suspects who were driving a white small 4 door vehicle. Police say this is the cities first homicide of 2011.
