Every year firefighters from throughout the valley are busy with fireworks related calls. In 2020 fire departments around the county responded to 70 fireworks related fires. Yakima Fire Department firefighters say they doused 15 fires within city limits last 4th of July.
It's different in other cities. Residents are allowed to use fireworks under certain restrictions in Granger, Harrah, Mabton, Moxee and Zillah.
