Firefighters battled flames of a 75 acre wildfire Wednesday east of Ellensburg that forced evacuations. At about 3:00 p.m. Wednesday people in Ten buildings were told to evacuate after the flames threatened the area near Parke Creek and Koffman roads. Officials with the State Department and Natural Resources helped local firefighters douse the flames. The fire was under control after about 2 hours. The cause remains under investigation.
Firefighters also doused flames of a hay truck fire on I-90 near Vantage. No injuries were reported in that fire as well.
