Fire Threatened Homes Near Randall Park

A fire started by accident in Yakima's Randall Park threatened some homes Saturday afternoon.

Firefighters were called there around 3:00 p.m. after someone threw a lit cigarette away. According to one witness, the flames were well more than 20 feet tall.

At least three teens were detained in connection to lighting off a firework in the park around that same time, but it was determined that the firework did not cause the fire and they were released.

One teenager was given a ticket for lighting off the illegal firework.
