Ellensburg Lawmaker On KIT 7:45 Tuesday Morning
It's a snowy Tuesday and Today we're talking to Rep. Matt Manweller,
R-Ellensburg at 7:45 this morning. Mamweller took office representing the 13th Legislative District in December of 2012 after his predecessor resigned before Matt was to begin his first term in 2013. He is a professor at Central Washington University (CWU) where he teaches Political Science and Constitutional Law. He serves as ranking Republican on the House Labor and Workplace Standards Committee. Rep. Manweller is also a member of the Appropriations Committee and the Technology and Economic Development Committee. And he's also assistant floor leader.
Here are some possible topics we'll be talking about;
* A public hearing was held yesterday (01/30) on House Bill 1310, a measure sponsored by Rep. Manweller that would provide students with a safe, anonymous reporting system to a teacher or administrator about concerns of school-based unsafe or violent activities, or the threat of said activities. The bill is designed to prevent school shootings or violence.
* Rep. Manweller recently introduced several workers compensation bills.
* At the request of Secretary of State Wyman, Rep. Manweller has introduced voter registration legislation.
