Election Night Humor

It’s an election season classic! Not sure who wrote it but it’s been around awhile. Sure, it fit better yesterday when it WAS the night before elections but humor us for the humor and may the best candidate win..tonight

T'was the night before voting, all across the U-S
Dismayed and depressed, as we surveyed the mess

We watched all the ads, and skimmed through the news
Confused by lies from opposite views

Relentless as pit bulls the canvassers came
To seek undecided’s and list them by name

Against the front door, piled high on the wall
The reams of campaign mailers sent by them all

Ahead or behind, campaigners abound
Promising everything to everyone found

Low taxes! No taxes! And good paying work!
Oppose my opponent, because he's a jerk

Come morning we'll vote, to decide who is boss
No matter who wins, it's America's loss

But lift up your glass, there's reason to cheer!
At least all the ads will all disappear.
