A Trump audience attendee started it and it's blown up from there.  For the good of the country we have to talk about all those things we have been afraid of, ashamed of, PC bullied about and for which we have been ridiculed or labeled.  The current “political class” doesn’t seem to want to do it but a sizeable and angry portion of the public does.  That in part explains the early success of the presidential political outsiders Trump, Fiorina and Carson.  Trump gets credit for sparking all the conversation about immigration reform, Fiorina is for now, carrying the banner for defunding planned parenthood and Carson has raised the issue of potential problems with Islam and a possible presidency.

Doctor Carson was asked about it on Meet The Press this weekend.  The reaction was quick and predictable…some going so far as to ask Carson to step down.

You’ve heard the ominous sounding accusations - : Xenophobia = intense or irrational dislike or fear of people from other countries.  Nativism = the policy of protecting the interests of native-born or established inhabitants against those of immigrants.    Nationalism =  The strong belief that the interests of a particular nation-state are of primary importance. Also, the belief that a people who share a common language, history, and culture should constitute an independent nation, free of foreign domination.

The truth is bigotry often stems from ignorance or lack of information.  The way to information is communication which means we have to talk more and judge less, yes?
