A groundbreaking ceremony was held today for the Davis High School Modernization Project. The 97 million dollar remodeling project starts tomorrow and when finished students will see larger classrooms, a bigger gym and a remodeled performing arts center among other changes. Yakima School District Superintendent Dr. Elaine Beraza told those at the groundbreaking the project is student centered and forward thinking and will be a model for 21st century schools when complete. The project is expected to be finished in 2015. The work at Davis and Eisenhower high schools, Stanton Academy and and YV Tech Skills Center was funded by a bond passed by voters in 2009.
