You want a quick lesson in the basic difference between the left and the right in America?  Look no farther than the hand at the end of your arm that holds your chicken sandwich.  Allow me to explain.  The president of Chick-fil-A company Dan Cathy is a  Christian who believes in the sanctity of the traditional/biblical view of marriage.  He has that right as a private citizen.  Doesn’t he?  He spoke of his beliefs in a radio & print interview and you would think he was suddenly advocating baby seal sandwiches instead of chicken given the reaction by the left.

Gay rights groups responded by calling for a boycott of the business. The mayors of Boston, Chicago, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C. told the chain it is not welcome in their cities and vowed to stop further expansion of the restaurants there!

And there you have the difference.   If the left has a point of view we better recognize and honor it.  And if we disagree we mostly shake our heads and then go on about our business.  But if someone on the right has a point of view with which the left disagrees, then expect boycotts, protests and attempts to actually put them out of business…to punish their free thoughts, to make them pay for a differing point of view!

Thank heavens we have Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee riding to the rescue.  He has made a call to make Wednesday, Aug. 1 “Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day”  and it has drawn a tremendous response —  more than 20 million people have viewed his Facebook event page to learn about the Day.

According to Newsmax more than half a million people have already said they will heed his call and eat at a Chick-fil-A restaurant on Wednesday to show their support for the chain that has come under attack from the left for promoting its Christian values.
