Cyber Monday Deals Are Great But Don’t Forget Green Monday – Dave’s Diary

Black Friday and today -Cyber Monday- are known for offering the best shopping deals but a new crop of shopping days are presenting even better discounts.  Fats Domino had a hit in 1956 with the song “Blue Monday “but according to” DealNews, " there will be no reason to sing the blues on Green Monday this December.  

According to eBay, this second Monday of December has posted the best online sales day of the month with retailers like Target and Sears offering up to 90 percent off the most popular gift items. That's some serious savings!

In 2009, $854 million was spent online in the US on Green Monday,with sales in 2011 reaching $1.133 billion.  In 2012, Green Monday topped out at $1.27 billion, up 13% from 2011 and last year Green Monday online sales grossed a record $1.4 billion, albeit still lower than Cyber Monday's $2.29 billion during the same year.
