For the first time since 2009, the state legislative session concluded without cutting Central Washington University’s operating budget. Early Wednesday, April 11, state lawmakers approved a supplemental operating budget (HB 2127) for the 2011-13 biennium. It increased CWU’s budget by just more than $1 million.

“This is the first budget increase in four years, and I interpret it as a sign that the worst of the state’s budget free-fall is over,” said CWU President James L. Gaudino.
