County Treasurer Working With Taxpayers to Pay Tax Bill

April is the month property taxes are due in Yakima County. They're due April 30.

Yakima County Treasurer Ilene Thompson knows this is a tough time in the valley with many businesses closed and people not working. But she says it's vital taxes be collected to support vital infrastructure in the county like police and firefighters and other important county positions. Thompson says however the Treasurer office is willing to work with taxpayers who may be struggling to pay the tax bill. Those who have been financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and are in need of assistance are asked to contact the Yakima County Treasurer’s Office prior to April 30. Thompson says she's developing two different payment plans for county residents to pay property taxes.
