Convicted Murderer Waives Future Appeals of Sentence
A man convicted of the 2016 murder of two people at the Moneytree business in Yakima has indicated he no longer wants to pursue and appeal of his sentence. Yakima County Prosecutor Joe Brusic says Manuel Verduzco has filed a document with the Washington State Court of Appeals called a Voluntary Withdrawal of Review saying he's no longer interested in appealing his two life sentences without parole. Brusic says Verduzco has accepted his sentence and no more county tax dollars and time will be spent dealing with the case.
Verduzco was convicted in the March 2016 fatal shooting of Moneytree employees Marta Martinez and Karina Morales-Rodriguez.
Verduzco is serving his time in the Washington State Penitentiary in Walla Walla.
