Conaway Ready to Work on Farm Bill, New Farm Research Website Up

Texas Republican Mike Conaway who was recently confirmed to be chairman of the House Agriculture Committee has said he’s ready to work on the next farm bill and Immigration reform.
The comments come on the heels of president Obama’s executive orders regarding immigration due to a lack of legislative movement on immigration issues in the U.S. House.
Conaway told POLITICO recently he’s already thinking about the 2019 farm bill, planning an in-depth review of the food stamp program and ready to help get an immigration reform bill done to help farmers.
A web application used by USDA scientist is now available to the public.
USDA’s VIVO application serves as a "one-stop shop" for Federal agriculture expertise and research outcomes, according to USDA. VIVO's underlying database draws information about research being conducted by USDA scientists from official public systems of record and then makes it uniformly available for searching.
VIVO was in part developed under a $12.2 million grant from the National Center for Research Resources, part of the National Institutes of Health.
