Commissioner LaDon Linde Confirmed District 3 Winner After Recount
It's official Yakima County Commissioner LaDon Linde is the winner of the District 3 race on the Yakima County Commission.
The recount resulted in a 1 vote difference between the candidates
Yakima County Auditor Charles Ross on Thursday released the unofficial results showing the hand recount of 40,843 ballots resulted in a change of 1 vote between the candidates. The recount in the race between LaDon Linde and Autumn Torres started Tuesday and was expected to take up to two weeks to complete but it finished early on Thursday.
The results are unofficial until the Canvassing Board meets later this month
The amended recount results are:
LaDon Linde - 18,964
Autumn Torres - 18,898
The Canvassing Board will meet at 4pm on Monday, December 13 to certify the results.The three county commissioners face reelection in 2022 as part of a voting rights settlement. All total 40,762 ballots have been counted with voter turnout 32%.
127,362 were issued to registered voters for the general election.
