Cheers for November’s Childrens Miracle Family of the Month: Meet Vyla
In October 2024, Townsquare Media stations 1280 NewsTalk KIT and 101.3 FM raised a total of $56,535 for the 2024 Children's Miracle Network Radiothon! Thank you so much for your donations and contributions.
We're back for another month of love for the CMN families, and today we're celebrating four-year-old Vyla!
Vyla loves keeping active doing things kids do, like cheering on her favorite team the West Valley Rams), jumping around and doing gymnastics, eating her favorite meal (currently it's spaghetti with huge meatballs), and dreaming of the day she grows up so she can do the job of her dreams (currently, it's a zookeeper). She is vivacious, loving, and full of lots of energy!
That wasn't always the case. Little Vyla starting having problems breathing regularly by the time she was one year old.
She spent many days and nights being cared for in the Pediatrics Unit at MultiCare Yakima Memorial Hospital. Doctors and nurses were there for her during those hard to breathe moments, not just for Vyla, but also for her parents!
Vyla was eventually diagnosed with Reactive Airway Disease.
Reactive Airway Disease is similar to having asthma attacks. Young children with this affliction have to take special medications to avoid extreme bouts of coughing, wheezing, chest pain, difficulty breathing, and other symptoms.
Vyla still has to go to the hospital a few times a year because of the disease and her stays range anywhere from overnight to a week, but her family's strength and and love keep her thriving and flourishing like a champ!
The Memorial Foundation helped provide her parents with support and resources, and thanks to your local donations, Vyla is thriving today!
