One of the investors in the proposed downtown plaza says she looks forward to seeing a scaled down version of the plan early next month. Dana Dwinell, owner of D2 Communications in Yakima invested $5,000 in the initial plan. "Councils changes and priorities change and there's a lot of things on the plate for the city so I can understand their request to lower the cost"
Dwinell says even though the design will be changed she's fully supportive of a plaza and how it will improve the downtown area. Dwinell says as an investor the city hasn't yet officially contacted her about the change in design and the possible lower cost then the original $14 million price tag. City officials say a new design for the plaza with a lower cost will be presented to the full city council early next month possibly on Tuesday July 7.
