The Yakima City Council isn't finished talking about Immigration and Customs Enforcement or ICE flights at the Yakima Air Terminal-McAllister Field. Council members directed city staff on Tuesday to schedule meetings with federal lawmakers to further talk about the flights and the concerns of some community residents about the flights. The staff is now scheduling meetings with Representative Dan Newhouse, Senator Patty Murray, and Senator Maria Cantwell. No word on when the meetings will be held.
The council voted 4-3 on Tuesday to allow the federal government to use the airport for ICE flights.
