Can A Yakima Hockey Group Save This Beloved Ice Rink Before Its Too Late?
For many decades, families have found the Yakima Ice Rink to be a very important place in the Yakima Valley. It's a very exciting time at the Yakima Ice Rink because of the recent interest in learning how to figure skate and to play hockey.
Unfortunately, the ice rink has been put up for sale, and the Yakima Amateur Hockey Association is "pulling out the goalie" and "putting on the foil for ol' time hockey" and public ice skating.
Hockey fever has taken the PNW by storm again! From the NHL to the minor leagues, all the way down to the local amateur leagues. It's the coolest game on ice! Yakima's home for playing hockey is the Yakima Ice Rink, where ice skaters of all ages go.
Everything from beginning to advance public skating, to youth and adult hockey leagues, the growth of all of their skating programs has been great, thanks to all the hard work that the staff and volunteers put into the ice rink.
YAHA is working with the owners to come up with a price for the rink and terms that will be acceptable to both the Association and the facility's owners. So, in an effort to raise the much needed funds, the Association is kicking off a new fundraising campaign.
Please consider helping the Yakima Amateur Hockey Association and all skaters from young to old, present to future hockey and ice skaters, as they are working hard to purchase the ice rink to keep it open for the community!
YAHA is a registered 501(c)3 non profit organization and your donation may be tax deductible. Please checkout their website www.yakimaicerink.com for more info on donating.
