There's a lot of snow in the city of Yakima and especially in area neighborhoods and that's making it tough for the city to collect your garbage. So they're asking for your help. City spokesman Randy Beehler says we haven't seen this much snow in years. "People just forget some of the things that come with severe winter weather and this is just an example of that."
The refuse division is asking for help. They ask that you make sure you avoid parking your car on the street on collection day and that you maintain a 36 inch space around the garbage cans that's free of snow and ice. If you live on a steep hill they're asking that you bag your garbage, the normal 30 ton trucks may not be able to make it up or down certain hills so they'll need to drive smaller vehicles.
