Childress Replacement Expected to be Named Tuesday

Tuesday is the day the Yakima County Commissioners, Ron Anderson and Vicki Baker will make a big choice. They are expected to name the replacement for Norm Childress in District 3 after Childress died in September.
Three people want the job. LaDon Linde, Autumn Torres and Jim Restucci. They were chosen by officials from the Yakima County Republican party out of 11 candidates.
The replacement is expected to be made at the Tuesday meeting of the Yakima County commissioners that begins at 10:00 a.m.
Torres is a Human Resources Director for Husch & Husch in Harrah, Restucci serves on the Sunnyside City Council and Linde is Director of Medical Staff Services at Astria Sunnyside Hospital.

While future District 1 commissioner Amanda Mckinney says she would like input in the process the commissioners didn't seek her opinion in the decision.
State law says the replacement must be on the job by November 14.
