Chamber Helping Local Soldiers Deployed to Afghanistan
In July of this year the 53rd Ordnance Company deployed to Afghanistan on an EOD mission. The men and women from the Yakima Training Center aren't expected to return until February 2020 which means they won't be spending holidays with family and friends. An e mail from the Greater Yakima Chamber of Commerce says this year the chamber is partnering with the Yakima Chapter of "Operation Thank You" to do "Packing & Shipping" of care packages from home.
The chamber is looking for cash for postage and to purchase much needed items. Individuals and companies can also donate items on the list as well.
Wish List:
Hygiene items: foot powder, lotion, baby wipes, Clorox wipes, mouthwash, razors, shaving cream
Food items: canned soup, pre-made meals, beef jerky, healthy snacks

Clothing: socks, beanies, comfortable cold weather stuff, shorts, shirts, flip flops, micro-fiber towels
