Carjacking Yakima Man Goes To Prison Victim Recovers

A Yakima man is going to prison for a violent car theft. Justin Stewart has been sentenced to 7 years in prison for the January car theft that seriously injured a man from West Valley. Stewart plead guilty Wednesday to a second degree robbery charge. Prosecutors say 46 year old Mitchell Mears was leaving his home on an early January morning when he caught Stewart breaking into his car. Mears was beaten and found on the ground by police outside his home on South 81st Avenue. He's made a full recovery.
