A website has been supplying parents with a way to have a video message from Santa delivered to their kids for a while now. Let me tell you, it's effective!

Portable North Pole allows parents to have a customized, personal video message delivered to kids via email. It is really slick, with great sound and graphics. Your children will be called by name by Santa, see their own photo, hear some personal things about themselves, and most importantly, find out if they or on the "naughty" list or the "nice" list.

I did videos for my six year old son and 10 year old daughter. My son got very emotional when the virtual Santa announced that he was on the "nice" list. You could see the relief flood through his entire body.

The site offers a basic (but very entertaining) message for free, and there are options for more involved messages for a fee.
