Body Found Near Myron Lake, Police Are Not Ruling it a Homicide at This Point

The body of a 59 year old man was found near Myron Lake near 40th and Fruitvale in Yakima this morning. Yakima Police Captain Rod Light said someone walking on the Yakima Greenway spotted a body in a creek near the lake. The man has been identified but his name has not been released. Light say "At this point the evidence points to a death investigation, we're not looking at this as a homicide as of right now based on the evidence we've found so far." Light says the man was a 59 year old white man that had a local address, but may have been more of a transient. Light says "he was submerged in the small creek, the autopsy will determine whether he died from drowning or something else."
