The Yakima Area Arboretum's annual Arbor Festival is one of the largest Arbor Day celebrations in the Pacific Northwest and one of the largest FREE family events in central Washington drawing over 2000 people. This year's 13TH Annual Arbor Festival will be held Saturday, April 14, 2012 from 10am to 3pm on the Arboretum Grounds. The Arbor Festival is a FREE family community event celebrating our state and national Arbor Days, spring, conservation, and natural science. The theme for this year's event is "Go Green!," expanding on our perennial theme of "Planting Green," and will teach ways to reduce everyone's carbon footprint through sustainable practices. Families can expect lots of hands-on learning opportunities, crafts, and displays. Plus, over 600 families will have an opportunity to take home their own tree to plant in their yard in honor of Arbor Day.
