Beware of Possible Threats to Yakima Pets as Cat Found Mutilated
*Warning* What you are about to read could be disturbing but it's very important to be aware of what is happening in your local neighborhoods. Koda Stacy is a local kitty rescuer in Selah, WA that I have been following for quite a while. You can too on Facebook or Instagram @kodasrescuekittys.
She assists with trapping, spaying, and neutering our local colonies as well as taking in injured cats and kittens to nurse them back to health. She works with local vets and raises funds for surgeries for the animals when needed and is constantly updating and educating the public on how we all can care for our overpopulation of cats.
*Disturbing Information Below*
Today about noon, Friday, April 8th, 2022, Koda found a cat that had been skinned alive and then beheaded. The location was 1117 Willow Street, Yakima, WA 98902. She wanted to make sure people were aware and if possible to keep their pets indoors. She also was hoping that anyone in the area that has security cameras could please check them for activity.
Being a cat owner myself, with one that loves to go in and out all day this made me a touch nervous. She is so fast and doesn't enjoy strangers so I am not so worried about her but there is something I am worried about.

With Koda working constantly to take care of our stray population, on top of other non-profits she is hoping to raise funds for future surgeries, shots, as well as feeding the colonies. If you are interested in giving she suggests Selah Veterinary Hospital, 509-697-6111, and donate under the name Koda Stacy. She also has an Amazon wish list set up for food and supplies. Anything helps and I am so thankful that we have people in our community who are willing to dig in and get dirty, doing all they can to help slow the flow of new kittens being born every day. Kitten and puppy season has arrived and the caring never stops.
